These songs sprang from the words of Ikkyu,
a.k.a. Crazy Cloud,
mad Japanese poet-monk of the fifteenth century,
and the drawings of Jon Appel,
a.k.a. Leafguy,
mad American artist-wanderer of the present one.

I found them in the hills near Saratoga, Wyoming, in January 2014. Great gratitude to the Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts for hosting me. I recorded the songs at home in Santa Fe and Albuquerque in December 2014, January 2015, and August 2015.
